Son Ye Jin gave a candid and humorous glimpse into everyday life with her husband Hyun Bin and their son.
Appearing on the September 13th broadcast of JTBC’s Please Take Care of My Refrigerator 2, the actress opened up about her family’s eating habits while showing the refrigerator they actually use at home.
As part of the show’s format, guests reveal the contents of their own refrigerators, and Son Ye Jin admitted that she had done some last-minute sprucing up before filming.
Feeling as though she were exposing a very private side of herself, she made side dishes she normally would not prepare and cleaned everything out. According to the actress, Hyun Bin noticed the difference right away, joking, “This isn’t the refrigerator I know.”
Son also shared that she usually cooks for the family, which naturally means meals tend to reflect her own tastes. “I’m the cook, so I tell my husband to just eat what I give him,” she joked.
She then offered an especially relatable glimpse into their family routine. “I eat whatever our son leaves, and Hyun Bin eats whatever I leave behind,” she said, adding that she sometimes feels sorry for him for always ending up with the last of the leftovers.
Son also spoke fondly about their 4-year-old son, saying she thinks he takes after her. Joking about his looks, she added, “With that face, it might be hard not to become an actor.”
At the same time, Son admitted that parenting can be more exhausting than work. “Honestly, raising a child is harder than working, so sometimes I prefer going to set,” she said, explaining that at home she is constantly being recruited into her son’s fire truck games and putting out imaginary fires.
Son Ye Jin and Hyun Bin married in March 2022 and welcomed their son that November.
