IU is returning with new music for the first time in a year.
EDAM Entertainment announced the singer’s comeback at midnight on September 4th, releasing a teaser for a new digital single through IU’s official social media channels.
The single is set for release on September 10th at 6 PM KST, exactly one year after IU surprise-released “Bye, Summer” on September 10th, 2025.
The teaser features visuals styled like a retro computer screen, with a crescent moon, an orbit and a glowing sphere appearing alongside the text “IU DIGITAL SINGLE” and “2026.09.10. 18:00 (KST).”

Fans may have already heard a glimpse of the track. The music featured in the teaser is the same audio that briefly appeared in IU’s late-August YouTube video “Dear Star, please grant my wish,” which had already prompted speculation that new music was on the way.
IU debuted in 2008 with the EP Lost and Found and has since released a string of hits including “Good Day,” “You & I,” “Friday,” “Through the Night” and “Love wins all.”
