Police were dispatched to Hong Min Gi’s Seoul residence on August 23 after his former girlfriend reportedly created a public disruption.
MyDaily reported on August 24 that the woman arrived at his home in a densely populated neighborhood during the early morning hours. She screamed and cried loudly, disrupting the peace and keeping several neighbors awake. The commotion persisted despite attempts by Hong and the woman’s acquaintances to calm her down, leading multiple residents to call the police. Officers ultimately escorted her to the police station to give a statement.
The disturbance was reportedly not an isolated incident. She allegedly spent three hours ringing his doorbell and banging on his door on August 19th, starting around 1:00 AM. CCTV footage provided by Hong’s agency shows her placing a sticker over the front door camera to block the recording before repeatedly kicking the entrance.
Hong’s agency clarified that the couple began dating in April, but Hong ended the relationship after losing trust when he discovered she was secretly communicating with her ex-boyfriend. She admitted to the behavior and apologized, but Hong repeatedly asked her to break up anyway. His representatives stated they will no longer address individual false claims made against him, opting instead to take strong civil and criminal legal action using the evidence they have gathered.
