NewJeans’ Hyein is giving fans a new glimpse of what she’s been up to.
Harper’s Bazaar Korea unveiled Hyein’s September issue inside cover, fashion spread and behind-the-scenes video on August 22nd, marking one of her more visible solo appearances in recent months.
The video shows Hyein moving through several different looks, including a red dress and a dramatic fur ensemble with a matching hat. The behind-the-scenes footage also gives fans a closer look at her on set as she poses for the camera.
In the accompanying interview, Hyein opened up about turning 19 and how she chose to celebrate her final birthday as a teenager.
“I’m a little shocked that I’m already 19, but this birthday was really special,” she said. “I finally got to do something I’d always wanted to try — going to an amusement park in a school uniform.”
Hyein explained that she had never gotten the chance to make that kind of memory with friends because her school years felt so short.
“I’d never gone to an amusement park with my friends while I was in school, so I decided to do it to celebrate my last birthday as a teenager,” she said.
As for turning 20, Hyein already has one simple plan in mind.
“The first thing I’ll do when I turn 20 is blow out candles and eat cake,” she said. “It’ll be my way of celebrating becoming 20.”
The shoot also drew attention as one of Hyein’s individual activities following NewJeans’ return to ADOR last November amid the group’s contract dispute. Her appearance follows recent solo activity from fellow member Haerin.
