IDID’s Kim Min Jae Denies Alleged Links to Far-Right Community

IDIT member Kim Min Jae has come under scrutiny over alleged ties to the far-right online community Daily Best. His agency, Starship Entertainment, has denied all claims.
Starship released a statement on May 31st, writing, “The allegations circulating online are false, and there was no intention behind them.”
The controversy began on May 17th, when Kim Min Jae shared a vlog video. In the clip, the screen was upside down, and the time ’19:00′ appeared in reverse. Some netizens speculated that this resembled past Daily Best’s slang used to mock the late former President Roh Moo Hyun.
The situation was worsened by a recent post on a paid fan platform, where Kim Min Jae wrote “Wow!!” to express excitement. Some linked this to the controversy, further fueling rumors.
Starship explained that the video was filmed on May 16th using a new format suggested by the content team. Kim Min Jae, unfamiliar with this style, filmed upside down by mistake. The editing team added subtitles in reverse to match the video. The ’19:00′ subtitle was simply the actual stage end time.
Regarding “Wow!,” the agency said it was a normal expression of excitement and was not meant in any harmful way. Some netizens claimed it was derived from former President Roh Moo Hyun’s final speech, where he said, “Wow, I feel good”, but Starship emphasized that the video was handled by staff, not Kim Min Jae himself, and it does not reflect his personal beliefs. The agency apologized for any misunderstanding or inconvenience, saying, “We regret not carefully reviewing the content, and the artist also apologizes for causing concern due to this unexpected situation.”
Lee Young Ji Responds to Claims Her Red Hair Sent a Political Message

Lee Young Ji has clarified the controversy surrounding her political leanings.
On May 30, the star posted photos on her social media showcasing her new hairstyle. In the pictures, she wore red clothing and had red hair. She also shared a post featuring the song “REDRED” by the group CORTIS, adding, “My hair color is pretty, right? It’s the hairstylist’s work.”
May 30 was also the early voting period for South Korea’s nationwide local elections. Some netizens speculated that Lee Young Ji might be sending a message supporting a particular political party through her hair and clothing color.
After being informed of these concerns via direct messages, Lee Young Ji promptly deleted the post and dyed her hair black.
On May 31, she addressed the situation on social media, writing, “You must have been surprised by the untimely story I uploaded yesterday. Many people informed me through DM, and out of apology, I hurried to dye my hair and came back, so my explanation is late. I am sorry.”
She continued, “I was clearly aware of the important timing, but my desire to communicate was stronger, and I seemed to have posted recent updates carelessly. I will not hide behind the excuse of ignorance but will reflect and learn. I apologize for my thoughtless actions.”
