Yulhee, a former member of the K-pop group LABOUM, has made her return to the screen, taking on her first lead role in a mature romance drama.
The singer-actress recently took to Instagram to announce her casting in the short-form series Please Be Quiet And Take Off Your “Something”. The drama was released on February 12th and is now available on DramaBox and VIGLOO.
Adapted from a popular web novel of the same name, the series is billed as a “19+ rated modern romance.” The story follows Kim Na Yul (played by Yulhee), an exhausted editorial designer who has all but given up on dating due to her grueling workload. Her life takes a spicy turn when she accidentally discovers the secret, private side of Kwon Si Jin (Lee Jae Bin), the workaholic CEO of an advertising company.
Yulhee showcases a new, more mature charm in the role, portraying a career-driven designer navigating an unexpected office romance.
This project marks a significant step in her career amidst her ongoing legal battle with her ex-husband, Choi Minhwan of the band FTISLAND. The couple, who married in 2018 and share three children, divorced in December 2023, with Choi initially retaining custody.
However, the split turned contentious last October when Yulhee released a YouTube video alleging Choi’s involvement in soliciting prostitution and other private misconduct. Following these revelations, she filed a lawsuit in November seeking a change in custody, as well as alimony and division of assets. Recent reports indicate that mediation between the two parties has failed, meaning the dispute will likely be settled in court.
