Song Min Ho, aka Mino of WINNER, has been indicted for allegedly missing 102 days during his time as a public service worker.

On Thursday, legal sources confirmed that the Seoul Western District Prosecutors’ Office charged Mino with violating the Military Service Act, stating in the indictment that he left his post without legitimate reason for a total of 102 days while assigned to a facility in Mapo District.

Public service workers serve 21 months, with roughly 430 actual working days excluding weekends and holidays. If the prosecution’s claims are upheld, Mino would have missed nearly a quarter of his required service. Under the law, leaving one’s post for eight days or more without valid reason can carry a sentence of up to three years in prison.

According to the indictment, Song’s absences reportedly increased as his discharge date approached. From March to May 2023, he was absent for just one day. But in July 2024, prosecutors allege he missed 19 out of 23 scheduled workdays, showing up only four days that month. In November 2024, one month before his discharge, he allegedly failed to report for 14 days.

A facility official identified as A has also been charged. Prosecutors allege that when Mino cited oversleeping or fatigue, A approved the absences and later falsified documents to make it appear he had worked, even using remaining leave days to cover the gaps.

In one cited case, A allegedly informed Mino in advance that he would be absent for training, after which Mino did not report to work the next day. Around that time, Mino was reported to be in San Francisco for his younger sister’s wedding.

After taking over the case from police, prosecutors conducted additional investigations, including phone forensics and GPS analysis, uncovering further alleged absences. While YG Entertainment previously stated that his leave was taken in accordance with regulations, Mino is reported to have largely acknowledged the charges during questioning.

The first hearing, initially set for March 24th , has been rescheduled to April 21st.
