The success of Doctor Cha has left fans wanting more. However, is season 2 really in the works and can Alien Company confirm the details?
Uhm Jung Hwa and Kim Byung Cheol worked together as a couple on JTBC’s Doctor Cha which aired in 2023. They both exhibited a wonderful stage presence and their characters’ interesting dynamic throughout the series made for an enjoyable watch. News of a season 2 being released had fans anticipating more from their favorite stars, but did SSL actually green-light the project?
Spotify News reported that preparations for season 2 had allegedly started three years after the show ended. SLL, the production company of season 1, responded saying, “Nothing has been concretely discussed yet regarding the production of Doctor Cha Season 2.” Sadly, despite all evidence pointing to yes, it seems viewers need to wait a little longer to see if anything will really come of this news.
The show became popular with a viewership rating of 18.5% due to its eccentric storyline of a housewife of 20 years suddenly becoming a medical resident in a busy hospital. It comes as no surprise that season 2 would be on its way after such a great response.
