Representatives for Kim Soo Hyun have forcefully refuted allegations made during a recent press conference by the controversial YouTube channel HoverLab, aka Garosero Research Institute.
Law firm LKB & Partners, legal representatives for the actor, released a statement on May 7th addressing the channel’s explosive claims. “During their press conference, HoverLab claimed to have obtained audio recordings of the late actress Kim Sae Ron. However, these recordings are completely fabricated. Gold Medalist [Kim’s agency] believes the recordings were created using AI technology,” the statement declared.
The legal team explained that the person who provided these recordings had also approached Gold Medalist, claiming to have audio that would support Kim Soo Hyun’s position.
The statement continued, addressing one of the most shocking claims: “During their press conference, HoverLab alleged that the person who provided the recordings was physically assaulted at the direction of Gold Medalist or Attorney Ko Sang Rok, and they even released ‘assault photos.’ HoverLab’s claims are absolutely unacceptable false allegations that defy common sense. The ‘assault photos’ can be found on the Internet with a simple search.”
Kim’s representatives characterized the press conference as a desperate “attempt to launch a cyber-terror attack” against the actor, suggesting HoverLab was retaliating after finding themselves cornered by the legal actions Kim’s team had already initiated against them for defamation, stalking, cyber sex crimes, and evidence tampering. They added that Gold Medalist is “appalled by HoverLab’s press conference, which serves as definitive proof that their numerous previous claims were also false and manipulated.”
The statement concluded with a firm legal warning: “HoverLab’s actions constitute a new type of crime using AI technology and a serious criminal attempt to destroy Kim Soo Hyun with forged evidence. They will certainly face appropriate punishment. Gold Medalist will immediately file charges for violations of anti-stalking laws and defamation regarding this press conference, and will work closely with investigative authorities to ensure HoverLab is punished according to law and principle.”
