Many K-pop idols born in 2006 are about to finish high school. In South Korea, students often take a big test called the CSAT (College Scholastic Ability Test) to get into college. While some of these idols will be taking the test, others have decided to focus on their music careers instead.
NewJeans’ agency ADOR announced on November 7th that Haerin would not be taking the 2025 CSAT. Haerin is born in 2006 and is eligible to take the exam this year. However, she has chosen to focus on her career instead. Previously, NewJeans’ leader Minji also opted out of the 2023 CSAT.

Other idols, including Wonyoung from IVE, Kyujin from NMIXX, Eunchae from LE SSERAFIM, Jihoon from TWS, Hana from FIFTY FIFTY and Sion from TripleS have also decided to forgo the exam to concentrate on their careers.
On the other hand, some stars will be taking the exam as registered candidates. Former child actress Gal So Won, who starred in the movie Miracle in Cell No. 7, and Ampers&One’s Mackiah as well as BOYNEXTDOOR’s Woonhak are set to take the test.
Meanwhile, the 2025 CSAT is scheduled for November 14th, with around 520,000 students expected to take it. Test-takers must bring their admission ticket and ID and be seated in their designated spot by 8:10 AM to participate.
