Plus M Entertainment and SLL held the “Plus M x SLL Night” event at the Busan International Film Festival on October 4th. During the event, Plus M unveiled its lineup of upcoming releases and new productions, including director Kim Han Min’s latest project along with other films.

1. HOPE

Hope is a new film by The Wailing director Na Hong Jin. It centers around a mysterious discovery on the outskirts of a remote harbor town, where the residents are thrown into a desperate struggle for survival against an unimaginable threat. This project has drawn significant attention with its star-studded cast, including Hwang Jung Min, Jo In Sung, Jung Ho Yeon, Alicia Vikander, Michael Fassbender and Taylor Russell. Currently in post-production, audiences are eager to see if will live up to the legacy of The Chaser and The Wailing.

2. The Sword of Godumakhan (literal title)

Set two years after the fall of Goguryeo’s Pyeongyang Fortress, this film follows a warrior with no memory who finds himself in a fierce clash between five tribes, all in pursuit of the legendary sword, Godumakhan. This is the next film by director Kim Han Min, known for his Yi Sun Sin trilogy.

3. Pig Valley (literal title)

Pig Valley is an international film produced entirely in English, starring Ma Dong Seok, who also serves as a producer. Directed by The Outlaws’ Lee Sang Yong, the story centers on a former pro boxer named Hammer, who joins a group of criminals in a remote Texas location to search for a missing bag of money. 4. Face (literal title)

Yeon Sang Ho is bringing another one of his own webtoons to the big screen. This time, he’s telling the story of Young Syu, a blind seal craftsman, and his son Dong Hwan as they seek answers about their mother’s mysterious death. Park Jung Min, Kwon Hae Hyo, Shin Hyun Bin, Im Seong Jae, and Han Ji Hyun star in the film, and the filming was wrapped in a record-breaking three weeks. Park Jung Min takes on a dual role for the first time in his career, playing both Dong Hwan and a younger version of Young Gyu.

5. Pavane (literal title)

Pavane is a classic melodrama about three people who couldn’t love themselves but learn the meaning of love as they live together and love each other. Based on the novel by Park Min Kyu, the film stars Go Ah Sung, Byun Yo Han, and Moon Sang Min. It is a new film by director Lee Jong Pil, who was recognized for his artistic and commercial success with Escape and Samjin Company English Class. All eyes are on how the novel, which offers a critical view of society’s obsession with physical appearance, will be portrayed on screen.

6. Night Fever

Night Fever is an action-packed film that captures 24 intense hours in the lives of those who risk everything to survive in the scorching city of Bangkok. Starring Woo Do Hwan, Jang Dong GunHyeriPark Sung HoonKim Min Seok, and Kim Min, the film was shot entirely on location in Thailand.

7. Baeksu Apartment (literal title)
Baeksu Apartment is a mystery comedy about a nosy unemployed woman named Geowol (played by Kyung Soo Jin) who strives for justice in her neighborhood. When strange noise complaints start happening in her apartment building, Geowol sets out to uncover the mysterious cause. Joining her are co-stars Ko Kyu Pil, Lee Ji Hoon, Kim Joo Ryung, and Choi Yoo Jung of Weki Meki.

Bogota: City of the Lost, which premiered at this year’s Busan International Film Festival, is set for a December release. Starring Song Joong Ki and Lee Hee Joon, the film tells the survival story of Koreans who become involved in the South American smuggling market. Meanwhile, Opposition is expected to hit theaters early next year. Featuring Yoo Hae Jin, Kang Ha Neul, and Park Hae Joon, the story follows an insider known as “Opposition” who disrupts the drug world as he moves between Korea’s drug market and an investigative agency.
