A woman was reportedly detained after causing a disturbance outside YG Entertainment’s headquarters while allegedly trying to enter the building with a golf club.

Videos shared on social media showed the incident taking place outside YG Entertainment’s new building in the Mapo district of Seoul on August 7th.

In the footage, several women can be seen gathered near the entrance. One woman runs toward the glass doors while holding a golf club and strikes the doors multiple times. She reportedly attempted to enter the building after the doors remained closed. A security guard quickly stepped in and stopped her from getting inside. Later images showed the woman being escorted away by police.

Online speculation suggested that the group may have been BLACKPINK fans protesting the agency’s 10th-anniversary plans, which some fans criticized as too limited because only 40 fans could attend and not all members were scheduled to be present. However, the exact motive behind the incident has not been confirmed.

This is not the first security issue involving YG Entertainment’s building. In 2016, a woman carrying a weapon entered the former YG building after threatening people outside. She was later taken into custody by police, and no injuries were reported.

The incident comes after YG Entertainment announced a special BLACKPINK 10th-anniversary event titled MEET & GREET, which will be held in Seoul on August 8th.

However, the announcement sparked criticism among some fans after it was revealed that only 40 fans would be selected through a paid Weverse lottery and that not all members would attend due to schedule conflicts. Additional backlash followed after it was confirmed that Lisa would not be part of the event.
