Hwang In Youp brought down the house by jokingly apologizing for playing yet another high schooler in his upcoming K-drama, Dream To You.
At the show’s press conference on July 7th in Seoul, the 35-year-old actor addressed his reputation for playing students despite being well into his thirties. “I actually said in my last project that it would be my absolute last time, so I sincerely apologize for putting on a school uniform yet again,” he said, triggering explosive laughter from the crowd.
He explained that the script was simply too good to pass up. “I’ve been dying to do a romantic comedy and was waiting for the perfect romance story. This was a project I couldn’t miss, even though it meant putting the uniform back on. It’s such a fun, wonderful story that—even though I’m sorry—I ended up wearing it one more time.”
When a reporter playfully asked if he might wear a school uniform again in his next project, Hwang shot back, “How greedy can one be?” before adding with confidence, “Honestly, would there even be a project out there that could top Dream To You?”
Dream To You is a romantic comedy about a genius film director, Woo Soo Bin (played by Hwang In Youp), who returns home after achieving his dreams, and a part-time reporter, Joo Yi Jae (Hyeri), who has completely given up on hers. The drama is set to premiere on July 13th.
