Attention is focused on whether Song Ha Yoon will be able to clear her name after a long legal dispute.

On June 25th, her legal representatives at Law Firm Jieum stated that the original accuser has been sent to the prosecution with a recommendation for indictment. The charges include defamation under the Information and Communications Network Act, obstruction of business and threats.

According to the law firm, the police initially decided not to send the case to the prosecution. However, Song Ha Yoon filed an objection through legal channels, which led to additional investigations. The authorities then recognized the charges against the person and ultimately forwarded the case to prosecutors with an indictment recommendation.

The lawyers also said that some media reports were misleading, as they were based only on the early decision not to indict, not the updated investigation results.

The controversy began in April 2024 when the person appeared on JTBC’s CRIME CHIEF and claimed that Song Ha Yoon had slapped her for 90 minutes during high school and that she was later forced to transfer schools after being involved in a group assault incident.

Song Ha Yoon’s side denied the claims at the time, saying they had no connection with the accuser. However, she paused her entertainment activities due to public backlash and later chose to take legal action to clear her name.

In response, the person continues to deny the accusations. In an interview with OSEN on June 26th, she insisted that the case had not changed as reported and that the original non-indictment decision still stood even after further investigation.

As both sides continue to dispute the investigation results, public attention is now on whether the prosecution’s final decision will help determine Song Ha-yoon’s future in the entertainment industry.
