Netflix’s hit medical drama The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call is officially moving forward with Seasons 2 and 3.

MyDaily reported on June 22nd that production on the Netflix original series is scheduled to begin filming in October.

The production team plans to film Seasons 2 and 3 back-to-back. Season 2 will consist of eight episodes, and scripts for the first four episodes have already been completed.

The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call follows Baek Kang Hyuk, a brilliant surgeon with experience working in war zones, as he takes charge of an underperforming trauma center and transforms it into a top-tier emergency medical unit. The upcoming season will reportedly follow Baek Kang Hyuk as he visits trauma centers across different regions, taking on new challenges along the way.

The main cast from Season 1 — including Ju Ji Hoon, Choo Young Woo, Hayoung and Yoon Kyung Ho — are all expected to return. New characters are also set to be introduced throughout the season.

The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call quickly became one of Netflix’s biggest Korean hits after its January 2025 premiere. The series topped Netflix’s Top 10 chart in Korea and remained at No. 1 for 22 consecutive days. It also ranked first globally in Netflix’s non-English TV category during the final week of January. Within three weeks of its release, the drama had become one of Netflix’s most-watched Korean original series.

The show’s success continued during awards season. Ju Ji Hoon won Best Actor honors at both the 61st Baeksang Arts Awards and the 4th Blue Dragon Series Awards. The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call also took home Best Drama at the Blue Dragon Series Awards and was recognized at the 20th Seoul Drama Awards.

The series is produced by Blitzway Entertainment.
