Son Ye Jin walked away with a major acting honor at the 46th Golden Cinematography Awards, but much of the online conversation afterward centered on her red carpet look.
The actress attended the ceremony in Seoul on Monday, where she was honored with Best Actress for her performance in director Park Chan Wook’s upcoming film No Other Choice.
For the event, Son wore a soft pink sleeveless gown paired with a short hairstyle and understated accessories. While the elegant look drew praise from some fans, others felt the styling didn’t fully showcase the actress’s signature glamour.
Some online commenters were less enthusiastic, writing, “That was a bad look on her,” “The hairstyle doesn’t suit her,” and “The dress, shoes and hair don’t seem to work together.” One commenter even quipped, “Is the stylist her hater or what?”
Despite the fashion chatter, the evening ultimately belonged to Son’s latest career achievement.
Accepting the award, Son thanked director Park Chan Wook, the cast and crew behind No Other Choice, calling it “the best set with the best people.” “I don’t think I would have received this award without them,” she said. “I’ll continue working hard to become an actor who can contribute to great productions like this.”
No Other Choice is a thriller-comedy directed by Park Chan Wook that follows a suddenly unemployed family man fighting to protect his loved ones. The film stars Lee Byung Hun, Son Ye Jin, Park Hee Soon, Lee Sung Min, Cha Seung Won and Yum Hye Ran.
