Photos from Ok Taecyeon‘s private wedding were leaked online, sparking outrage over privacy invasion.
Ok Taecyeon married his long-term girlfriend on April 24th at the Grand Ballroom of The Shilla Seoul in Seoul. His bride is a non-celebrity who is four years his junior, and the couple has reportedly been dating for approximately 10 years. The ceremony was strictly private and attended only by family and close friends to protect the bride’s identity.
Ok Taecyeon originally announced his engagement through a handwritten letter to fans in November of last year. His agency, 51k, requested privacy at that time and declined to share specific details about the event. News outlets eventually confirmed the date and venue just one day before the ceremony took place. Fellow 2PM member Hwang Chansung served as the MC of the ceremonies for the event, and the group members performed a congratulatory song together. Ok Taecyeon is now the second member of 2PM to marry, following Hwang Chansung’s wedding in 2022.

The privacy dispute began when photos of the wedding venue started spreading across Chinese social media and various online communities. A Chinese tourist staying at The Shilla Hotel allegedly took the photos from their hotel room window and posted them online. These posts included captions explaining that the guest discovered the celebrity wedding by chance after checking into their room. Public criticism has intensified because the unauthorized photos expose the face of the non-celebrity spouse and the details of a closed event.
Ok Taecyeon will continue his professional career with 2PM despite the recent controversy. The group is currently preparing for their 15th-anniversary Japanese concert scheduled for May 9th and 10th. All six members will perform at the Tokyo Dome for the first time since 2016.
