Jisoo and Seo In Guk are sharing what made their chemistry click as Boyfriend on Demand continues to build buzz.

The Netflix series has been gaining strong attention, with both stars ranking No. 1 and No. 2 in buzzworthy cast rankings. Now, the two are sharing what made their on-screen dynamic work—and what stood out most to viewers.

“Since it’s a romance, chemistry really matters,” Jisoo said. “Seo In Guk made me feel comfortable and always looked out for me, so I’m really grateful. Filming was always fun.” Seo In Guk echoed the sentiment, adding, “Jisoo has this bright, lovable energy that lifts everyone’s mood. Thanks to her, the set was always full of laughter.”

When it comes to fan reactions, Jisoo said many viewers connected with the story’s realism. “I heard a lot of people say they could relate because it felt so real,” she shared. “Especially Mi Rae’s fear of starting a new relationship after being hurt in the past. Some said her emotions felt like their own, which meant a lot to me.” She added, “At the same time, I hope people don’t stay hurt for too long because of past love.”

Seo In Guk said he enjoyed seeing fans debate his two characters. “It was fun watching people choose between Kyung Nam and Young Il,” he said. “They’re very different—one is more reserved but thoughtful, while the other is more direct and outgoing—so I hoped that came across.”

Behind the scenes, the two actors worked closely to build their characters’ relationship. Jisoo shared that they held discussions before filming and talked through each scene in detail, from emotions to character development. “We even tried to match our outfits to reflect how their relationship changes,” Jisoo said.

She also noted Seo In Guk’s easygoing nature on set. “He gets along with everyone, so there was always a lot of laughter. I learned a lot from him.”

Seo In Guk praised Jisoo’s collaborative approach as well. “She has a lot of ideas, so I learned a lot through our discussions,” he said. “We rehearsed every scene together and really worked through the details.”

As for favorite moments, Jisoo pointed to the snow scene where Mi Rae and Kyung Nam confirm their feelings. “When he says, ‘Is change really such a bad thing?’ it felt like a turning point for her,” she said.

Seo In Guk chose Young Il’s first appearance, calling it “a shocking reveal” of his dual role. He also highlighted a lighter moment, where Kyung Nam, slightly drunk, collects bottle caps while Mi Rae helps him and smiles—a scene he said left a lasting impression.

With its mix of relatable emotions and strong chemistry, Boyfriend on Demand continues to resonate with viewers.
