Sul Kyung Gu, Jeon Jong Seo and Seo Eun Soo are joining forces for the upcoming occult mystery film The Rock (literal title).
The production recently confirmed the casting lineup and released stills from the table read, offering a first glimpse at the intense chemistry.
The Rock follows the chilling mystery surrounding a massive, sacred rock deep in the mountains that is said to grant wishes to anyone who prays to it. As people begin digging into its history, they uncover a dark and unsettling secret.
The film also brings together members of the production team behind the hit occult movie Exhuma, raising expectations for another gripping supernatural story.
Sul Kyung Gu will play Eul Seok, a shaman who hides a dangerous secret. Known for fully transforming into each character he plays, the veteran actor is taking on the occult genre for the first time in his career with the role.
Opposite him, Jeon Jong Seo stars as Hee Jin, a woman determined to uncover the truth after the mysterious death of her younger sister, Hee Sun. As she investigates the events surrounding her family, she finds herself in direct conflict with Eul Seok.
Seo Eun Soo joins the cast as Hee Nam, Hee Jin’s sister, who also begins questioning the circumstances surrounding Hee Sun’s death and works alongside her sister to uncover the truth.
The Rock officially begins filming on March 12th.
