The highly anticipated drama Perfect Crown, starring IU and Byeon Woo Seok, has officially locked in its premiere date.
According to industry sources, MBC’s upcoming Friday-Saturday drama Perfect Crown will premiere on April 10th. The series will follow the currently airing In Your Radiant Season and will run for 12 episodes.
The premiere date was adjusted due to the 2026 World Baseball Classic matchup between Korea and Japan scheduled for March 7th. The broadcast of In Your Radiant Season was preempted for the event, pushing its finale back by a week and naturally moving the launch of Perfect Crown to the second week of April.
Set in a fictional 21st-century constitutional monarchy in Korea, Perfect Crown tells the story of a wealthy heiress who seemingly has everything except noble status and a royal prince who has the title but nothing else. The series follows the two as they challenge social boundaries and shape their own destinies in a sweeping romance.

IU plays Sung Hee Joo, a powerful chaebol heiress who has everything except aristocratic lineage, while Byeon Woo Seok takes on the role of Prince Ian, a royal who cannot inherit the throne.
The project has attracted significant buzz since its casting stage, bringing together two of Korea’s most talked-about stars. IU chose the drama as her next project after the success of When Life Gives You Tangerines, while Byeon Woo Seok follows his breakout hit Lovely Runner.
Among MBC’s Friday-Saturday dramas, the top three highest-rated series remain Knight Flower with 18.4%, The Red Sleeve with 17.4% and Big Mouth with 13.7%. With IU and Byeon Woo Seok teaming up, many viewers are watching closely to see whether Perfect Crown can break the network’s long-standing 20% ratings barrier.
