The Art of Sarah has officially locked in its global premiere date. The Netflix original will debut worldwide on February 13th, alongside the release of its first teaser poster and trailer.
The series marks the latest project from director Kim Jin Min, known for acclaimed Netflix titles Extracurricular and My Name. It also reunites Shin Hye Sun and Lee Jun Hyuk for the first time in eight years since Stranger, raising anticipation for their on-screen chemistry.
The Art of Sarah follows Sarah Kim, a woman who longs to become something priceless even if her life is built on lies, and Moo Kyung, the detective who tracks her hidden desires and buried past. The story unfolds as a psychological mystery centered on identity, deception, and obsession.
The newly released teaser poster immediately sets a dark tone. It features the bloodied body of a woman whose face is obscured by a designer handbag, with detective Park Moo Kyung seated beside her. In the background, a blurred silhouette of Sarah Kim and a notebook filled with dense writing hint at a deeper connection between the two.
The trailer deepens the intrigue by presenting multiple versions of Sarah Kim. The discovery of a severely injured body in a sewer launches Moo Kyung’s investigation, where a tattoo on the victim’s ankle leads him to identify her as Sarah Kim. As he digs deeper, he’s met with a chilling revelation: “There are no records of a Sarah Kim anywhere.”
Scenes of Sarah in tears, insisting that something has gone wrong, blur the line between truth and deception. Her glamorous life of luxury shopping sharply contrasts with moments where she appears worn down, dressed in tattered clothes, working relentlessly, and even eating leftovers from customers. The duality only intensifies the mystery surrounding her identity.
The trailer closes with a haunting line from Sarah herself: “If you can’t tell the fake from the real, is it really fake?” The question lingers, hinting at a story about a woman desperate to be real, and a life stained by carefully crafted lies.
