Jeon Jong Seo is set to take on the occult genre alongside Sul Kyung Gu in the upcoming film The Rock (literal title).
According to industry sources on December 17th, Sul Kyung Gu has confirmed his participation in The Rock and has entered pre-production, with Jeon Jong Seo having signed on earlier. The film centers on a family tragedy that gradually uncovers the hidden secrets of a mysterious rock, tapping into the occult genre that has recently gained traction at the Korean box office.
For Jeon Jong Seo, The Rock marks another striking genre turn following her reputation for intense, fearless performances. Her casting, announced ahead of Sul Kyung Gu’s, sparked early buzz, with fans eager to see how her volatile screen presence will collide with the film’s dark, mystery-driven narrative. The combination with Sul Kyung Gu has only heightened expectations for the project.
The Rock will be directed by Lee Deok Chan, making his feature-length directorial debut after participating in films such as National Singing Contest and No Tears for the Dead. Lee is also credited as a co-writer on the screenplay.
Filming is scheduled to begin in March 2026, and the project is currently in full pre-production.
