Lee Jang Woo revealed he was genuinely thrown off when he learned that Hahm Eun Jung, his former virtual wife from We Got Married, is getting married.
On the 16th, Hahm Eun Jung uploaded a new video titled “We Got Married (Separately)” on her YouTube channel, marking a reunion between the two as they congratulated each other on their respective upcoming weddings.
Lee admitted he heard the news from his mother first. “I was at work when my mom suddenly went, ‘Hey! Eun Jung’s getting married.’ I told her, ‘No way. She’s filming a drama right now.’ You and Director Kim Byung Woo didn’t really match at first, so I thought it was fake news,” he said. “Then I wondered, ‘Did she get pregnant? Why would she suddenly get married at this timing?’ I even told my mom, ‘I think Eun Jung’s pregnant.’ Even after you denied it, I kept doubting it for a long time.”
Hahm burst into laughter. “That blessing hasn’t come that quickly,” she joked. She went on, “I start filming a drama from next week until July next year. I couldn’t push the wedding any further, so it had to be this year. The drama team was in a frenzy too. And if I want to have a baby, they told me to get married early. I’m an ’88-liner—so it counts as later-age pregnancy.”
Hahm Eun Jung will marry director Kim Byung Woo on November 30th. Kim has directed films including The Terror Live (2013) and Take Point (2018). Meanwhile, Lee Jang Woo is set to tie the knot with actress Cho Hye Won on November 23rd, following eight years of dating.
