
Disney Plus has confirmed that its original series Made in Korea will premiere on December 24th and has released the first trailer. This marks the first streaming project for Hyun Bin and Jung Woo Sung, as well as director Woo Min Ho.
Set in 1970s South Korea, a period of both turmoil and rapid growth, the story follows corporate executive Baek Gi Tae (played by Hyun Bin), who seeks to turn the state itself into a business model to reach the pinnacle of wealth and power, and prosecutor Jang Geon Young (Jung Woo Sung), who relentlessly pursues him with obsessive determination. They confront a series of monumental events that cut across the era.
Hyun Bin takes on the role of Baek Gi Tae, a man driven by boundless ambition for wealth and power.

Jung Woo Sung plays Jang Geon Young, a prosecutor who hides his obsessive determination to uncover the truth behind a friendly, hearty laugh.

Woo Do Hwan portrays Baek Gi Hyeon, Baek Gi Tae’s younger brother and a former military officer. He brings depth to the character by exploring his complex feelings toward his brother and his own desire for success.
The series also features an all-star cast including Cho Yeo Jeong, Seo Eun Soo, Won Jian, Jung Sung Il, Kang Gil Woo, Roh Jae Won, Lily Franky, and Park Yong Woo, whose strong performances and diverse charms create explosive synergy and immersive storytelling.
Directed by Woo Min Ho of Harbin and produced by Hive Media Corp of 12.12: THE DAY, the series will consist of six episodes.
The newly released trailer immediately captures attention with Baek Gi Tae’s (played by Hyun Bin) enigmatic smile amidst a tense atmosphere. Following him, Jang Geon Young (Jung Woo Sung) and Baek Gi Hyeon (Woo Do Hwan) appear with intense expressions, along with other characters, hinting at a web of desire-driven conflicts and unpredictable storylines. A particularly striking moment features Baek Gi Tae in an action-packed scene on a plane, uttering, “I’m just a businessman,” teasing viewers about his ambitious climb to the top of wealth and power.
Meanwhile, the series has already confirmed a Season 2, aiming for release in the second half of 2026.
Made in Korea will be available to stream exclusively on Disney Plus and Hulu. The series premieres with two episodes on Wednesday, December 24th, followed by two more episodes on Wednesday, December 31st, and single episodes on January 7th and January 14th.
