Netflix is celebrating a major K-content milestone as The Great Flood and Culinary Class Wars 2 simultaneously claimed the No. 1 spot on Netflix’s Global Top 10 lists—Non-English Film and Non-English TV, respectively.
Culinary Class Wars 2 logged 5.5 million views from December 15th to 21st, topping the Global Top 10 Non-English TV chart for the second year in a row and ranking No. 1 in South Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, and Hong Kong.
Recently released episodes revealed the outcomes of the highly anticipated one-on-one Black Spoon vs. White Spoon battles, delivering razor-thin results and emotional mentor-versus-student moments. The competition has since moved into team battles, introducing new rules and ingredient-based missions that put strategy and teamwork front and center—raising the stakes and setting the stage for even fiercer showdowns ahead.
Led by Kim Da Mi and Park Hae Soo, The Great Flood surged to the top just three days after its Dec. 19 release, pulling in 27.9 million views and ranking No. 1 in 54 countries, including South Korea, Spain, Brazil, Qatar, and Thailand. The sci-fi disaster blockbuster also landed in the Top 10 across 93 countries worldwide and claimed the overall No. 1 spot by view count.
The film has drawn strong international praise. Variety highlighted its sharp narrative shift “from the physical to the metaphysical,” while Radio Times singled out Kim Da Mi’s emotionally charged performance. The Daily Mail called it a “masterclass,” saying it left viewers “emotionally wrecked” and drew comparisons to Interstellar. Viewers echoed the acclaim, praising the film’s depth, immersive storytelling, and striking VFX.
