Jun Ji Hyun has officially passed on a lead role in highly anticipated drama Koreans (working title), where she would have starred opposite Lee Byung Hun.
Her agency, Peach Company, confirmed to SPOTV News today that Koreans was one of several projects under review, and a final decision was made for her not to appear in the series.
The series is a high-profile Korean remake of popular spy thriller The Americans. While Lee Byung Hun is confirmed to star, Jun Ji Hyun had been offered the role of his wife. She ultimately decided to turn down the part after careful consideration.
This leaves her schedule open. Currently, the actress’s only confirmed upcoming project is director Yeon Sang Ho’s film Colony. She is also still in talks for the drama Human X Gumiho, but her appearance has not yet been confirmed.
Jun Ji Hyun recently starred in the Disney Plus drama Tempest.
