Did Leonardo DiCaprio Star In ‘Squid Game 3’ Afterall?

Rumors that a Hollywood star would be joining the cast of Squid Game 3 had garnered a lot of interest from netizens. However, after one hour of the show premiering, fans have discovered who the actor is.

Rumors that an Hollywood actor participated in the filming of Season 3 began soon after Season 2 was released. It was believed that Leonardo Dicaprio was set to star in the show. especially due to his fondness of the series and actor Lee Jung Jae

At the time the rumor began circulating, Netflix immediately responded to the idea, stating, “These are groundless rumors.” However, because Leonardo DiCaprio revealed that he was a fan of Squid Game 3 and director Hwang Dong Hyeok and star Lee Jung Jae had mentioned Leonardo in the past, viewers began to suspect that the Hollywood actor would somehow be involved in the series. 

With the show being available on Netflix to watch currently, fans skipped through various episodes to find it was Cate Blanchett who made a guest appearance. Spoiler alert: Cate Blanchett appears in the last scene of the final episode of Squid Game 3. In this scene, which was filmed in the US, Cate Blanchett’s appearance is a subtle hint towards a more international version of the games, most likely the American version of Squid Game.

Season 3 of Squid Game centers on Gi Hun (Lee Jung Jae), who’s returned to the deadly competition with his own mission—only to lose his closest friend in the process. As he spirals between guilt and vengeance, the story also follows the reappearance of the enigmatic Front Man (Lee Byung Hun), who once hid his identity as a participant but now stands fully revealed.
