On the April 7th episode of the Philippine reality show Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition, Ji Soo was asked a question about Kim Soo Hyun, a topic that has recently sparked heated debate in Korea.
When asked, “Have you ever met Kim Soo Hyun?” he replied, “Honestly, no. I’ve never met him personally.”
His response, which appeared to draw a clear line between himself and Kim Soo Hyun, stirred reactions online. Netizens were divided over his attitude—some of Kim Soo Hyun’s fans expressed discomfort, while others defended him, saying, “Isn’t it just a natural answer?”
As Kim Soo Hyun faces allegations of dating a minor, criticism has also spilled over to actors known to be close to him.
Some netizens have demanded that actors like Ahn Bo Hyun, Yim Si Wan, and Jung Hae In—who are known to be friends with Kim Soo Hyun—“unfollow” him on Instagram. In response, Ahn Bo Hyun and Yim Si Wan reflected public sentiment by clearing their following list.
Ji Soo faced a school bullying controversy in 2021 and has since taken a break from his acting career. He recently signed with GMA and is now active in the Philippines, appearing in several local TV shows.
