Additional KakaoTalk messages between actor Kim Soo Hyun and the late actress Kim Sae Ron from 2018 have been made public.
The YouTube channel Garosero Research Institute, also known as HoverLab Inc., released new KakaoTalk messages on April 2nd, along with the original files and metadata. These messages were allegedly exchanged between Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Sae Ron in April 2018, when Kim Soo Hyun was on leave from military service.
According to the released messages, Kim Sae Ron, who was 17 at the time, wrote to Kim Soo Hyun: “Soo Hyun, when you want to see me or need me, you’re always available. But whenever I need you, you’re never there. It really bothers me and makes me uncomfortable when I can’t reach you. If you’re not going to make an effort, then I don’t want to see you anymore.”
The metadata of the file indicates that this message was sent in April 2018.
In another KakaoTalk message, an unidentified person labeled as “(Unknown)” wrote: “Are you doing well, pretty one? I’m out on leave.”
To this, Kim Sae Ron replied: “I wanted to show you this” and sent a photo of Kim Soo Hyun that she had taken.
Another screenshot shows Kim Soo Hyun suggesting a meetup: “How about the day after tomorrow instead of tomorrow?”
Kim Sae Ron responded: “But if I can’t reach you tomorrow like today, you’re dead. I’m waiting.”
Additionally, Garosero Research Institute revealed an original message allegedly left by Kim Sae Ron regarding a previously undisclosed KakaoTalk statement. Kim Sae Ron, whose username appeared as “(Unknown),” reportedly wrote that her relationship with Kim Soo Hyun lasted from “2015 to 2021.” She also referenced a photo where they touched cheeks, stating that it was taken in “2016.”
On the same day, Kim Soo Hyun’s legal team filed an additional lawsuit against Garosero Research Institute for violating the Anti-Stalking Act. They also refuted the 11 pieces of evidence presented by Garosero Research Institute alleging a relationship with a minor, arguing that the 2016 KakaoTalk messages were fabricated. However, Kim Soo Hyun acknowledged that the 2018 KakaoTalk messages and a video of a meal were authentic but emphasized that he was not in a romantic relationship with Kim Sae Ron at the time.
