The family of the late Kim Sae Ron has spoken out regarding the second legal notice she received from Kim Soo Hyun’s side. She received the second notice right after uploading her pictures taken with Kim Soo Hyun.
On March 17, a lawyer from the law firm Buyou, representing Kim Sae Ron’s family, arrived at the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency to file a complaint against YouTuber Lee Jin Ho. Before submitting the complaint, he held a brief press conference with Kwon Young Chan, head of the Korea Celebrity Suicide Prevention Association, to explain the reasons behind the lawsuit. Kim Se Ui, host of the YouTube channel Garo Sero Research Institute (also known as HoverLab Inc.), was also in attendance.
During the conference, Kwon stated, “Just yesterday, we discovered a second legal notice that Gold Medalist had sent to Kim Sae Ron. She had originally planned to move out on February 18th, but she passed away the day before. Her belongings had been stored in a warehouse, and we found the second legal notice while unpacking last night. The document contained threatening content.”
According to Kim Sae Ron’s legal representatives, the second legal notice from Gold Medalist mentioned that it had been sent due to concerns over a possible breach of trust. The letter reportedly included demands that she must repay her debt within a given period, refrain from posting similar photos on social media in the future, avoid any contact with actors from the agency and take full financial responsibility if Queen of Tears suffered any losses.
Previously, the family had claimed that Kim Sae Ron experienced extreme psychological distress due to videos posted by YouTuber Lee Jin Ho. They stated, “We also demand an apology for calling us during the mourning period, after the funeral and even after visiting her resting place saying he ‘couldn’t find where her urn is.’ He insists it was for fact-checking, but it felt like mockery and was extremely unpleasant.”
Regarding the accusations, Lee Jin Ho responded, “I will fully cooperate with the investigation and share the results with the public. If any of the information I covered was incorrect, I will take full responsibility. I will not evade accountability in any way.”
Additionally, Kim Sae Ron’s family recently claimed through Garo Sero Research Institute that she had been in a six-year relationship with Kim Soo Hyun, starting when she was a minor.
Initially, Kim Soo Hyun’s side denied the dating rumors altogether. However, as more allegations surfaced, they later admitted that he had dated Kim Sae Ron for a year but only after she had become an adult.
