BLACKPINK’s Jennie has set social media ablaze with her bold fashion choices during her solo concert, dividing fans with her more revealing stage attire.
On March 9th, footage uploaded to Jennie’s Instagram showcased the K-pop star performing in various outfits during her “The Ruby Experience” concert in Los Angeles two days prior. The artist expressed gratitude to her fans, writing, “Still dreaming. Thank you for all the love and support the last 2 days. Still can’t get over Ruby being out.”
However, fan reactions have been decidedly mixed. Many were surprised by Jennie’s notably more revealing wardrobe choices compared to her BLACKPINK-era appearances. One particular white sheer jumpsuit featuring a plunging neckline cut to her navel drew significant attention, with her décolletage prominently displayed. Fan-captured videos show Jennie herself repeatedly adjusting her outfit throughout her performance.
The concert footage has left Korean fans particularly conflicted. While Jennie has always projected a powerful and sexy charisma on domestic stages, she had previously maintained certain boundaries regarding exposure. Additionally, her pure and cute charm—earning her the nickname “Jendeukie” on variety shows—makes this revealing style departure feel unfamiliar to many local supporters.
While global fans have showered the videos with enthusiasm, domestic fan reactions tell a different story, with comments flooding in like: “I could understand if the outfit was at least pretty,” “This is embarrassing,” “She should have worn padding underneath,” and “You can see everything under the lights.”
Meanwhile, Jennie released her first solo full-length album Ruby through various music platforms on March 7th. The album features 15 tracks including the title song “like JENNIE.”
