Choo Young Woo shared a fun behind-the-scenes story about filming love scenes in The Tale of Lady Ok.
The actor sat down for an interview on January 4th, following the conclusion of JTBC’s weekend drama.
Looking back on his shirtless scene, Choo said with a laugh, “The director was actually more nervous and flustered than I was.” He added, “The script was very detailed, with instructions like ‘Kiss in the order of forehead, nose, neck, and collarbone,’ so there were no major difficulties.”
He also joked, “Seeing bare skin under a hanbok felt kind of strange,” drawing laughs. “I did wonder if people might be surprised, but thanks to the director, the scene turned out really beautiful. I was happy with how it looked.”
A Tale of Lady Ok tells the story of Ok Tae Young (Lim Ji Yeon), a woman whose name, status, and even husband are all a lie, and Cheon Seung Hwi (Choo Young Woo), an entertainer who puts everything on the line to protect her. Choo plays Seung Hwi, a nobleman’s illegitimate son who leaves home to become a professional storyteller. He also plays another role as Sung Yoon Gyeom, the eldest son of magistrate Sung Kyu Jin (Sung Dong Il), who looks exactly like Seung Hwi—and has his own secrets to keep.
