The new season of Netflix’s dating show Single’s Inferno is facing backlash from fans over unfair editing. The issue started after the second batch of episodes was released on January 21st, 2025.

In the first four episodes, cast member Jung Yu Jin was criticized for her late-night behavior on the swings. The show highlighted her giggling and screaming while drunk, which drew negative reactions from both the panel and other cast members.

The MCs in the studio, including Hong Jin Kyung, Hanhae, Kyuhyun and Dex, reacted with concern, saying, “Oh no…” Lee Da Hee described Yu Jin’s behavior as “forced enthusiasm,” while Yoo Jun Seo and Kim Min Seol, who had accompanied her to Paradise Island, were shown watching her from a distance and making comments like, “Is that person okay?” and “Who even is she?” These remarks, perceived as mocking and sarcastic, led to a controversy over alleged “backbiting.”

Later in the show, another cast member, Lee Sian, was also shown using the swings. However, unlike Yu Jin, the editing portrayed Sian calmly swinging without any unusual behavior. Fans quickly noticed the contrast and accused the production team of unfairly portraying Youjin negatively while presenting Sian in a more favorable light.

Many viewers took to social media, claiming the production team “did Yu Jin dirty” by exaggerating her actions. One fan wrote, “Watching this scene where Sian was on the swing only made me feel how the production team did dirty to Youjin.”

Some fans defended the editing choices by pointing out the differences in behavior. “Sian did it quietly, not shouting like youjin,” one viewer commented.

Nevertheless, the majority of fans agreed that the editing was unfair. “The producers and the host favoritism is clearly showing,” another fan remarked.
