Amid the controversy surrounding BTS member Suga’s alleged DUI while riding an electric scooter, a new Samsung Electronics ad featuring the star has hit the public eye.

On Monday, Samsung Electronics’ Paraguay branch posted a photo of Suga using a projector in various indoor and outdoor settings in a Samsung projector advertisement on X (formerly Twitter).

All members of BTS currently serve as brand ambassadors for Samsung. Following his recent police investigation into DUI allegations, there’s been speculation about Suga’s future with the brand.

Adding to the buzz, Samsung’s Germany branch briefly posted, then removed, a Galaxy S24 Ultra ad featuring Suga. This move fueled rumors about a potential pause in his endorsement activities. Nevertheless, fans were thrilled by the release of Suga’s new ad from Paraguay.

Suga is facing legal scrutiny for allegedly operating an electric scooter under the influence near his Seoul home in Hannam-dong around 11:15 PM in June. Police conducted a breathalyzer test at the scene, revealing his blood alcohol concentration at 0.227%, well above the legal limit for suspension. Initially, Big Hit Music acknowledged that Suga was intoxicated while riding a kickboard but later clarified that the vehicle was an electric scooter.

Before the investigation, Suga publicly expressed his regret, stating, “I sincerely regret disappointing many people. I will cooperate fully with the investigation.” He also penned a handwritten apology, acknowledging his lapse in responsibility and his significant mistake.

In the wake of the DUI news, Suga’s fanbase has split between those calling for his removal from BTS and those standing by him. Suga’s team has yet to reveal any plans regarding his future activities.
