Seo Kang Joon is set to lead MBC’s new drama, Undercover High School (literal title), marking his highly anticipated return to the screen. On March 6th, an entertainment industry insider revealed to JTBC News, “Seo Kang Joon has chosen his comeback project. He will play the role of Jung Hae Sung, the protagonist in ‘Undercover High School’.” His agency, Man of Creation, confirmed they are positively reviewing the offer.

Undercover High School promises a delightful and exhilarating comedic adventure, following a National Intelligence Service agent who conceals his identity to go undercover as a high school student. As he navigates school life, he forms bonds, empathizes, and grows alongside his classmates. The script is penned by Lim Young Bin, known for the drama Bad Prosecutor.

Taking on the role of Jung Hae Sung, Seo Kang Joon is expected to undergo a dramatic transformation, showcasing a side of him audiences have yet to see. The combination of his vibrant comedic performance in this undercover escapade raises anticipation.

This project is especially significant as it marks Seo Kang Joon’s first foray back into acting following his military discharge and his first drama since the 2022 Disney Plus series Grid.

Filming for Undercover High School is slated to begin in the first half of this year, with an MBC premiere scheduled for early next year.
