The lines between reality and drama blur enchantingly in the much-anticipated Netflix show Love Like a K-Drama, slated for a grand reveal on November 28th.
This isn’t your everyday dating program; it’s a reality dating series where eight actors—four actors from Korea and four actresses from Japan—come together to live and pair up to try and land lead roles in six mini K-dramas. Each episode weaves a web of dreams, romance, and friendships that transcend cultural boundaries.
The cast is a constellation of talent. Korea presents Won Shik, celebrated for his roles in True Beauty and Alchemy of Souls. Alongside him are the fresh faces Dong Kyu and Tae Gyun, both models-turned-actors, and Ji Hyuk, a Supernova member whose transition to the screen has been marked by compelling performances in The Secret Romantic Guesthouse and Alice.
Representing Japan, Rio leads with her vast experience, flanked by seasoned actresses Ayano and Honoka. Nozomi, the ex-E-Girls idol, is the rookie actress bringing a blend of rhythm and rawness to her newly embraced acting path.
In the released teaser, the eight young dreamers fiercely compete for the auditions for the leading roles in the dramas, building dreams, love, and friendships along the way. As they rehearse and audition, replicating scenes reminiscent of a Korean romance drama, audiences will see if their on-screen chemistry might spark real-life relationships.
The show is hosted by Yuko Fueki known as Yumin in Korea, and panels include Haruna Kondo (Harisenbon), Aa-CHAN (Perfume), Shusuke Fukutoku (Jarujaru), Hayato Komori (GENERATIONS), and Maria Tani.
