The upcoming Disney Plus original series Vigilante has been officially invited to the 28th Busan International Film Festival’s On Screen section, premiering its first three episodes.
By day, Kim Ji Yong is an exemplary cadet in the police force. But when the sun sets, he morphs into “Vigilante,” taking the law into his own hands to bring down criminals who’ve slipped through the system. This gripping action-thriller has captivated audiences, releasing its first three episodes at the BIFF. The exclusive screening has garnered rave reviews and glowing praise from those fortunate enough to catch it.
Audience reactions post-screening have been overwhelmingly positive. “Each ending scene was electrifying, and the third episode was so good it left me dying to know what happens next,” one viewer commented. Others echoed these sentiments, saying, “The music is fantastic. And I can’t wait for episode four,” and “It kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time.”
Additional reviews complimented the series’ pacing and action sequences. “The pace is great, and the action scenes are impressive. Despite its violent undertones, it fits perfectly with the theme of Vigilante,” said one audience member. Another chimed in, “I’m getting serious blockbuster vibes from Vigilante. It’s incredibly entertaining,” highlighting the sharp dialogue on law and justice.
Adding to the series’ allure are standout performances by Nam Joo Hyuk, Yoo Ji Tae, Lee Joon Hyuk, and Kim So Jin. Their compelling portrayals and intense synergy have only heightened anticipation for future episodes.
The On Screen preview served as a pivotal stage for Vigilante, which sold out every screening and has only amplified the buzz around the series. The show will be exclusively available on Disney Plus starting November 8th, with two new episodes dropping every Wednesday, totaling eight episodes for the season.
