Actress Uhm Hyun Kyung and her five-year-younger beau, actor Cha Seo Won, are preparing for a double joyous occasion: marriage and parenthood.
According to an exclusive report by Hankook Ilbo on the 5th, Uhm Hyun Kyung and Cha Seo Won grew closer while co-starring in the MBC drama The Second Husband. Their friendship blossomed into romance after the series concluded. After months of keeping the relationship under wraps, the two have pledged to tie the knot.
The couple is preparing to become parents as they’ve been blessed with a precious new life. Cha Seo Won is currently serving his mandatory military service as an active-duty soldier since November 22nd of last year. Uhm Hyun Kyung plans to focus on taking care of her health and will temporarily pause her activities. The couple plans to officially marry after the actor is discharged.
Hints of their rosy relationship were also picked up on several times before. During their appearances on MBC’s Radio Star last year, Uhm Hyun Kyung revealed that she recommended Cha Seo Won for the male lead in The Second Husband. The actor humorously confessed, “I thought she invited me out for dinner, but I was a bit disappointed that she just talked about the casting.” When asked if Uhm Hyun Kyung is his type, he garnered attention by acknowledging, “Yes, she is.”
Then in February, Uhm Hyun Kyung guested on MBC’s The Manager, in which she admitted, “I have someone I like. I hope he will become my future husband,” hinting at her relationship with the man of her dreams.
