‘Doctor Cha’ Faces Criticism for Snail-Paced Plot With Series Coming to a Close

JTBC’s drama Doctor Cha is facing criticism for its slow plot with just two episodes left.

In episode 14, Cha Jung Sook (Uhm Jung Hwa), who had decided to get a divorce, went ahead to file the divorce papers. In the meantime, she showed fervent commitment to her hospital work, even becoming the “Resident of the Month.” However, the episode concluded on a distressing note, as she was seen coughing up blood, indicating that her health was deteriorating.

In the teaser for the new episode, Jung Sook is shown packing her things, seemingly prepared to give up her medical residency midway. The video also featured an intense dispute between Roy Kim (Min Woo Hyuk) and Seo In Ho (Kim Byung Chul), who both insist on giving their liver to Jung Sook.

Viewers, eagerly awaiting this weekend’s episode, expressed disappointment saying, “We were eagerly waiting for this weekend’s episodes, but the storyline seemed to be going in circles for all two episodes.” They were also taken aback by the scene of Roy Kim and Seo In Ho fighting over who would become the organ donor for Jung Sook. With only two episodes remaining, the fact that Cha Jung Sook is still struggling with her divorce left the viewers disheartened.

One of the key reasons why viewers were initially captivated by Doctor Cha was the expectation of thrilling life-changing choices in Cha Jung Sook’s life. While a heartwarming conclusion would be welcome, viewers have expressed a strong desire to see Cha Jung Sook successfully completing her journey as a doctor first.
