The Price of Confession (literal title), which had been raising expectations with its luxurious casting, had reportedly lost both its lead actresses, Song Hye Kyo and Han So Hee.

On the 17th, according to a News1 exclusive, Song Hye Kyo and Han So Hee decided after lengthy discussions not to proceed with the project. Director Shim Na Yeon, who was tabbed as director, has also opted out of the production.

In relation to this, an official from Song Hye Kyo’s agency UAA and Han So Hee’s agency 9ato Entertainment stated, “It’s difficult to confirm or deny the actress’ decision,” adding, “For more details, please inquire with the production company.”

The Price of Confession revolves around the bloody alliance of two women surrounding a murder case. The potential casting of Song Hye Kyo and Han So Hee as lead actresses made headlines from early on.

Song Hye Kyo has been writing a new peak in her career by making a successful transformation through Netflix’s The Glory. Han So Hee also gained recognition for both her acting prowess and box-office appeal in projects like Nevertheless and My Name after rising to stardom through The World of the Married. The fact that The Price of Confession would be a collaboration between the two actresses at the pinnacle of their careers had already raised expectations through the roof.

The two actresses had also shown support for each other through Instagram and continue to maintain a good relationship, which further heightened interest in their collaboration.

The lead actors and the production team had several discussions related to this drama. However, due to some disagreements with the production team, Song Hye Kyo and Han So Hee have backed out of the production.
