MBC’s new Friday-Saturday drama Joseon Attorney had its production presentation on the 31st. Actors Woo Do Hwan, Bona, Cha Hak Yeon (aka N), Lee Gyu Seong, and Director Kim Seung Ho attended the event. Joseon Attorney tells the story of an attorney in the Joseon era who seeks revenge against the enemy who killed his parents in court.
Director Kim introduced the upcoming historical legal drama by saying, “Although it’s a legal drama, the protagonist’s job and background are nothing more than a setting. There’s a lot in the drama viewers can connect with, from heartwarming and touching stories to comedy and friendship.”
Woo Do Hwan shared his thoughts on the drama. “After fulfilling my military duty, it’s not that I changed as an actor, but rather, my own thoughts have changed,” he reflected. “I think the lead actor should shoulder the burden of caring for others more than oneself, and this drama made me think about that.” He continued, “People seemed to like how I changed after I got discharged. In my previous works, I played roles that are more sour than sweet, but it’s not the case this time. That’s why I feel like I’ve changed like this.”
Bona, who’ll be working with Director Kim once again following Twenty-Five Twenty-One, is starring in her first historical drama after debuting six years ago. The actress expressed her excitement for the genre and said, “I’ve wanted to do a historical drama for a long time, and I had a lot of trust in Director Kim. When I first read the script, I liked the proactive and just female lead character.”
She added, “I really enjoy watching legal dramas, and the script flowed smoothly without any hindrances. I immediately said I would do it when I received the offer. This is a multi-genre work that combines historical, legal, and romantic elements, so please look forward to it.”
Meanwhile, Joseon Attorney will premiere on the 31st at 9:50 PM KST.
