The South Korean entertainment industry was full of romance this year, and here are 7 celebrity couples who are embarking on new chapters in their lives with their other halves.
Park Shin Hye and Choi Tae Joon got married in January after five years of dating. The two surprised fans with their marriage and pregnancy announcements last year and became the proud parents of a baby son.
Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin, who became lovers from colleagues, got married in March. The pair announced Son Ye Jin’s pregnancy three months later and welcomed a baby boy into the world just recently.
Some stars had a fateful reunion, just like in the movies. Koo Jun Yup garnered great in March as he announced his marriage to his former girlfriend, Taiwanese actress Barbie Hsu. The two fatefully reunited after 20 years of separation and tied the knot.
Other stars who got married after a long-term relationship are Namkoong Min and Jin Ah Reum. They had a private wedding in October and got married after seven years of dating. The two met as a director and an actress in 2015 and started seeing each other despite the 11-year age gap.
Ma Dong Seok and Ye Jung Hwa belatedly announced their marriage. The pair did not have a wedding, but they legally became married after seven years of dating. Ma Dong Seok made headlines as he referred to Ye Jung Hwa as his wife in his acceptance speech at the 12th Beautiful Artist Award Ceremony.
Gong Hyo Jin fell in love with singer Kevin Oh who is ten years younger than her. The two had a private New York wedding in October. Back in March, the actress got swept up in dating rumors after receiving a bouquet at Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin’s wedding and officially confirmed her dating rumors with Kevin Oh in April.
Kim Yuna and Forestella’s Ko Woo Rim became a hot topic as they walked down the aisle in October after three years of dating. The two reportedly first met each other when Forestella performed at All That Skate 2018.
Many other stars also tied the knot this year, including Son Dam Bi and former South Korean speed skater Lee Kyou Hyuk; Beenzino and model Michova; T-ara’s Jiyeon and baseball player Hwang Jae Gyun; Shinhwa’s Andy and former anchor Lee Eun Joo; and T-ara’s So Yeon and South Korean footballer Jo Yoo Min.
