Kim Go Eun talked about acting and singing at the same time for Hero.
On the 8th, Hero held a press conference at CGV in Yongsan, Seoul. During the event, Kim Go Eun introduced Seol Hee, “She sings in the scene where she reveals her emotions, and in the rest of the scenes, she restrains and hides her emotions.”
“I wanted to express her emotions and sing well, so I prepared a lot,” she recalled. “At the scene, I begged the director to shoot again and again until I was satisfied.”
Since Hero is Kim Go Eun’s first musical movie, she’s put in a lot of effort. “I can’t sing loudly at home, so I rented a practice room and practiced there,” the actress commented. “I went there alone to practice whenever I had free time, and I took lessons and prepared (for the movie) diligently.”
In Hero, Kim Go Eun plays Seol Hee, an informant for the independence army. She’s also the character that’s changed the most from the original musical. Director Yoon Je Kyoon added vitality to the character by enriching the character’s narrative and a solo number for her.
Hero follows the last year of An Jung Geun, a Korean-independence activist, who was sentenced to death after killing Ito Hirobumi in Harbin in October 1909. Chung Sung Hwa, Kim Go Eun, Bae Jung Nam, Na Moon Hee, Jo Jae Yun, Lee Hyun Woo, and Park Jin Joo, and more star in the movie.
Meanwhile, the movie will hit the screen on the 21st.
