Disney Plus revealed the full list of Korean TV shows coming to the platform in 2023 at the 2022 Disney Content Showcase held in Singapore on November 30th.
Here, a new series titled Tell Me It’s Love (literal title) was announced, and its cast and director, including Kim Young Kwang, Lee Sung Kyung and Lee Kwang Young, sat down to briefly discuss their upcoming work. They explained that the new series follows a woman named Woo Joo who falls in despair after learning about her father’s affair and her new romantic relationship formed with the son of her father’s mistress.
With Big Bet, Connect and Tell Me It’s Love in production, here is the full list of new Korean series dropping on Disney Plus in 2023:
Moving – Starring Ryu Seung Ryong, Han Hyo Joo and Jo In Sung, the series is based on a popular webtoon illustrated by Kang Full. It tells a story about high school students with supernatural powers and their former secret agent parents who try to hide their abilities.
The Worst Evil – Set in the 1990s, The Worst Evil is a crime action drama that follows a police officer named Park Jun Mo who infiltrates a large criminal organization to wipe out the narcotics trade in the nation. Ji Chang Wook, Wi Ha Jun and Lim Se Mi star in the show, and the series is currently in production.
Race (working title) – The series is penned by Kim Ru Ri of Hyena and stars a star-studded cast of Lee Yeon Hee, Moon So Ri, Hong Jong Hyun and Yunho. It tells the story of an ordinary employee who starts to fulfill their potential after realizing that they have been hired through special recruitment by a top-notch public relations firm.
Super Junior: The Last Man Standing – The documentary series gives a behind-the-scenes look at the boy band and an wider insight into the K-pop industry.
NCT127: The Lost Boys (working title) – The series follows NCT 127 on their recent global tours in North America, Korea, Japan and Southeast Asia. The series will also take a deeper look into the growth and success story of the members including Mark, Johnny and Yuta.
J-Hope Solo Documentary (working title) – The solo documentary will take fans through J-Hope’s preparation process for his latest solo album. The viewers will have a chance to look at some undisclosed interviews and never-before-seen footage behind the 2022 Lollapalooza concert and his latest listening party.
BTS MONUMENTS: BEYOND THE STAR – The series will feature never-before-seen footage of BTS’s full nine-year career path as they rose to become pop icons of the twenty-first century. The daily lives, thoughts and plans of the members preparing for their second chapter are well captured in the show.
Soundtrack #2 – Vocalist Hyun Seo and Keyboardist Su Ho fall in love with each other while playing in a college band. They spend their time together almost every day for six years only to break up after graduating from their college. Four years later, fate brings them back together. Will they be able to rekindle their love?
The Zone 2: Survival Mission – Yoo Jae Seok, Lee Kwang Soo and Kwon Yuri will be back with a new seaon.
Shadow Detective Season 2 – Lee Sung Min, Kyung Su Jin, Lee Hak Joo and director Han Dong Hwa will return for Season 2.
