Lee Seung Gi‘s legal representative has now issued a final warning to Hook Entertainment.
The singer’s legal representative released an official statement on November 24th. “Lee has been represented by Hook Entertainment for 18 years since his debut and fully trusted his agency regarding matters of earnings and payment. However, he was unaware that earnings were being generated off his music because the agency made no mention of it,” his legal team stated. “He only discovered it after receiving a message mistakenly sent by one of the company’s employees. Although he urged that they should come forward on the topic, the company refused, offering excuses and making derogatory remarks to Lee.”
The team claimed, “During this process, he received threats and insults from the company’s CEO. Lee then realized that his relationship with Kwon and Hook Entertainment, whom he had trusted like family, could no longer be sustained.”
Lee’s council said they are considering legal options to resolve the issue. “He is planning to “closely inspect” legalities between Kwon and himself regarding his music and other matters. We hope to hear back from them with a transparent record of his earnings.”
