Netflix’s Teach You a Lesson is off to a powerful start, claiming the No. 1 spot on Netflix’s Global Top 10 Non-English TV chart during its first week of release.
The series, which follows a special task force dedicated to protecting teachers and restoring order in schools, racked up 6.4 million views in just three days following its June 5th premiere.
Beyond topping the global non-English rankings, the series reached No. 1 in 10 countries, including South Korea, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand. It also landed in the Top 10 across 48 countries, underscoring its growing international appeal.
The show’s mix of fast-paced storytelling, sharp social commentary and crowd-pleasing moments of catharsis has earned praise from critics worldwide.

Korean media outlets have been particularly enthusiastic. JoyNews24 described the series as “timely” and praised it for delivering both “entertainment and emotion.” Seoul Economic Daily predicted it could become “one of the year’s biggest breakout hits,” praising its bold approach to tackling difficult real-world issues. TV Daily also highlighted the cast’s chemistry, calling the ensemble led by Kim Mu Yeol, Lee Sung Min, Jin Ki Joo and Pyo Ji Hoon “especially impressive.”
International outlets have echoed that praise. Forbes called it “one of the smartest, best-written, and most addictive feel-good dramas of the year,” while Decider praised the series for successfully balancing entertainment with its message about bullying and other issues affecting education in South Korea.

Viewers have been just as vocal. “I finished it in a single day. It felt like drinking the most refreshing soda imaginable,” one viewer wrote. Another called it “nearly perfect in its writing, pacing and storytelling.”
Others highlighted the show’s craftsmanship, describing it as “a genuinely well-made series with solid storytelling, layered characters and no weak performances.”
Teach You a Lesson continues to build momentum as one of Netflix’s biggest Korean drama releases of the year. The series is now streaming on Netflix.
