Jeon Jong Seo shared how Lee Chung Hyeon, the director of the original short film Bargain is based on and the actress’s boyfriend, reacted to her new series.
On the 10th, Jeon Jong Seo had an interview with iMBC about her new TVING series Bargain.
Bargain tells the bloody struggle of three people as they start a dangerous deal to seize the last chance after getting trapped in a building that collapsed in an earthquake. It’s based on a short film by Director Lee Chung Hyeon. In the drama, Jeon Jong Seo plays Park Ju Young, the best auctioneer in the organization that traffics organs.
Jeon Jong Seo briefly shared Lee’s reaction to the drama. After working together in the Netflix movie The Call, the two went public with their relationship in December last year.
“He watched the whole series and told me he liked it,” the actress commented. “He said that he couldn’t stop watching and that he’s grateful as the director of the original film. He’s delighted about how his short film turned into a series and met with lots of viewers.”
She also mentioned a memorable reaction she received from a fan. “Recently, I received a message on Instagram,” she opened up. “They said that seeing Ju Young in the bloody and violent situation gave them somewhat of a hope. I got that message at dawn, and it really stuck in my memory. For the first time, I felt a sense of responsibility as an actor.”
She continued, “No matter what kind of a performance I show, when I think about how my performance could give someone hope, I have to try harder.”
