Song Joong Ki will continue his busy schedule.On the 25th, JTBC News reported that Song Joong Ki was officially cast in the movie Roh Ki Wan (literal title). Based on Cho Hae Jin’s novel “I met Roh Ki Wan,” this new movie follows Roh Ki Wan, a young man who smuggled into Belgium after escaping North Korea, and a screenwriter who follows his tracks. Song Joong Ki is said to make another shocking transformation into a North Korean defector.
The news about Song Joong Ki joining the Roh Ki Wan project first came out in 2017. At the time, both the actor’s agency and the production company responded that they only had one meeting and that it was too soon to announce anything officially. But this meeting finally bore fruit in 2022, five years later.
Song Joong Ki will join the Roh Ki Wan project after finishing Hwaran (literal title), the movie he’s currently shooting. Since Roh Ki Wan requires lots of overseas filming, the team is expected to begin its production by the end of this year. Moreover, Song Joong Ki’s new drama Reborn Rich has also announced its premiere on November 18th.
Meanwhile, the Roh Ki Wan crew has conducted auditions to cast rookie actors to be Song Joong Ki’s partners.
