Netflix is once again joining hands with Yeon Sang Ho for the new manga-based series Parasyte: The Grey.

The live-action adaptation of Hitoshi Iwaaki’s sci-fi manga comic book series follows a group of humans waging war against the rising evil of unidentified parasitic life-forms that live off of human hosts and striving to grow their power. The original manga has sold more than 25 million copies in over 20 markets.

The Korean adaptation of Parasyte: The Grey is directed and co-written by Hellbound and Train To Busan helmer Yeon Sang Ho. Climax Studio (Hellbound, D.P.) and Wow Point are producing.

Jeon So Nee (When My Love Blooms, Encounter) steps into the role of Jung Soo In, a woman infected with a parasite; when it fails to take over her brain, she enters a bizarre coexistence with it. Joining her in the cast is Koo Kyo Hwan (Netflix’s D.P. and Kingdom: Ashin of the North), playing the role of Seol Kang Woo, who tracks down parasites in order to find his missing sister.

Lastly, Lee Jung Hyun (Decision To Leave, The Admiral: Roaring Currents) is Choi Jun Kyung, the team leader of Team Grey, a task force battling parasites. Having lost her husband to these parasites, she lives with just one goal – their demise.
