Rookie girl group NewJeans has set a new record on Spotify with their debut album!

On August 4th, the group’s agency ADOR announced that their new EP achieved “2.06 million streams, 226,000 cumulative listeners, and 88,000 followers on Spotify on the day of its release” and set new records in the three categories among all K-pop girl groups that debuted this year.

The album’s lead tracks, “Attention” and “Hype Boy,” have remained at No.1 and No.2 on Korean Spotify’s daily top songs chart for two days in a row. At 8 AM on August 4th, the EP had topped the iTunes top albums charts in nine countries, including Finland, Russia, Indonesia, and Thailand.

The singles are also topping other domestic charts. “Attention,” “Hype Boy,” and “Cookie” quickly entered the Melon chart within six hours of their releases, making NewJeans become the fastest girl group to achieve such a feat of all female acts that debuted over the past three years.

Their eight music videos are also trending on YouTube. On the 3rd, five out of eight of their MVs became the top 10 most-watched YouTube videos. As of 8: 30 AM on August 3rd, their MV for “Attention” hit 1K views.

Meanwhile, NewJeans is the first girl group by ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin. Their debut album New Jeans was digitally released on August 1st and will be officially released on the 8th.
